Further to my recent post on spam...one e-mail had me in stitches this morning.
The subject line read:
Make her grotto wet of pleasure.
Really.
I've never heard it called a 'grotto' before. And in such a grammatically awful way, as well.
Just shows you can learn amazing things from unexpected places.

I am quite short-sighted: -8 in one eye and -9 in another. Which if you're in the know, means glasses, even the super-expensive, thin on...

Hi! Remember me? I used to blog here regularly. Well, I think I've fallen off so many horses recently it's got beyond a joke. Last w...
It sounds like it was a "grotty" email.
ReplyDeleteThats quite festive though...a christmas grotto...type thing.
ReplyDeleteI do wonder what kind of people respond to that sort of thing.
vetnurse ~ quite :-)
ReplyDeletebeth ~ do you know, I've never thought of it as 'festive'. Perhaps as well as the wax, we should also see if there are decorations we could also apply? Tinsel anyone?
I'm sure the lady in question would prefer it to be called something better. A cottage or mansion?
ReplyDeleteOh God! The editor in my head was obviously asleep. I really said that out loud? Oops
ReplyDeleteBoy ~ behave! I think the lady in question would get upset if it was called a 'mansion' (we're the opposite to blokes in the size game)
lol...Im with roses on this, you cant call it a mansion (very upsetting)...
ReplyDeleteBed & Breakfast perhaps..hehe
B*E*G ~ A B&B, with net curtains and doilies? I was thinking about bedsits...but that just sounds tacky.
ReplyDeleteHow about a garden shed?
There's certainly a lot of innovative language usage in some of those emails. Sometimes I've enjoyed a quick giggle when an odd one has evaded my junk filter, before sending it on to its demise.
ReplyDeletepj ~ 'innovative language usage'...have you got a job in PR? That's sooo polite.
ReplyDeleteActually, I'm not convinced that English is the second or third language of the spammers...I'm not sure what they're excuse is, if they're in that much of a hurry to type something out...why can't it at least be grammatically correct?
My (very openly gay) brother once responded to a newspaper ad for "Santa's Fairy Grotto" by stating that he was Santa's Fairy Grott
ReplyDeletecogidubnus ~ your brother sounds a hoot!
ReplyDeleteCall me old fashioned but I can't see what's wrong with the generic term 'spam box'? It covers a multitude of sins..... and does what it says on the tin!
ReplyDeleteLN ~ Spam box? You call it a spam box?
ReplyDeleteROFLMAO I love the terms.
ReplyDeletevetnurse ~ as you can see, we're a deep-thinking lot round here :-)
ReplyDeleteMaybe one for The Vagina Monologues?
ReplyDeletehottie ~ it's still on my list of things to see...
ReplyDeleteMost of my friends are male so this leads to some very interesting conversations ragarding ladies & so on.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, a conversation came up about ladybits & one of my friends admitted to calling it a 'hotbox'.
Wrong. In SO many ways!!! :-O lol
GND ~ a 'hotbox'. Hmm...I wonder whose bits he's been watching if he thinks it's box-shaped.
