Christmas Eve

To those of you who have stuck with me from the beginning: thank you, well done and it's good to know I'm not the only one without a Life. To those of you who landed on here this year: it's been lovely to get to know you.

Hottie arrives soon and Boy comes back from his dad's a bit later. And the festivities will truly begin.

Thanks to the snow fall last week and subsequent thaw and re-freeze, I can't get my car out of the drive. The inch and a half of ice, coupled with a narrow drive-way and a gentle incline have conspired to usurp my Festive Shopping. I was most miffed yesterday. Stomping around, sprinkling salt, jabbing at the sheet of glass to no avail.

Not to worry. We have alternatives and buses (hopefully). We will have goodies for Christmas Day lunch/meal/dinner. The duck is waiting patiently in the bottom of the fridge. I'm going to do it with rasberries this year. We'll see how much of that process I remember. The worst case scenario is we end up having bacon sandwiches and tons of mince pies.

So this is the calm before the storm.

I hope you all have a brilliant Christmas, however you choose to celebrate it (or not). Hold your loved ones close this year. They are fragile and precious and you are lucky to have them and vice versa.

  1. And also to you.

  2. Happy Christmas Roses - and best wishes to the duck.
(spoken as a duck lover not as a vegetarian)

  3. Happy Christmas Rosebud!
And have a fab New Year!

  4. All my cooking is done with Rasberries. That's why I leave it to Mrs Rine.

    Have a good one!

  5. My duck was in the kitchen on Monday, though not for cooking...

She climbed the back steps and stuck her head through the catflap, complaining about how cold it was and how the ice and snow had upset her usual program of backyard fergling...the better half took pity and let her in for a few hours warm up...

Life in our house is a little surreal sometimes...

Have a great Christmas (or should that be Yule?)

  6. Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones.

I hope you have a great break and that the duck is as perfect as a christmas duck could ever be!

    Lots of love xx

  7. dave ~ thank you sweetie

kaz ~ unfortunately, I think the duck is past appreciating your best wishes, but I will pass them on anyway.

ms scarlet ~ and to you my darling! Hope you have a great one. xxx

roger ~ mrs rine is a woman in control (she has to be with you lot)

cogidubnus ~ your missus has a heart of gold. Hope your duck is a bit happier. Have a great Christmas/Yule/Kwanzaa/holiday...whatever.

beth ~ thank you lovely. It will be drunken duck, so all will be perfect. Many hugs to you gorgeous.

  8. Happy Christmas, Roses. Drunken Duck vs Bacon Sarnies sounds like a win/win situation, have a great time.
